Refund & Cancellation Policy
Clear rules for PCT tax-preparation fees, cancellations, Stripe payments, bank-product selections, and preparer
training/onboarding payments.
This policy is designed to give clients and preparer applicants clear expectations before payment while supporting PCT’s
actual service workflow.
Effective date: September 9, 2026
below.
Our approach
PCT wants fees and cancellation terms to be clear before a client or preparer pays. Tax preparation is a professional service that
becomes earned as work is performed. Training/onboarding is a digital program with a separate one-time fee. Third-party bank-
product charges are governed by the applicable provider’s disclosures.
1. Scope
This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to payments made directly to PCT Professional Services LLC through Stripe or
another PCT-approved direct payment method, including tax-preparation service fees and PCT preparer training/onboarding
fees.
Bank-product, refund-transfer, refund-advance, tax-software, or other third-party charges may be subject to separate refund
rules controlled by the applicable provider.
2. Tax-Preparation Service Fees
2.1 Before Substantive Preparation Begins
A client may request cancellation before PCT or the assigned preparer has begun substantive tax-preparation, document-
review, calculation, research, due-diligence, amendment, extension, or other paid work. If no substantive work has begun, PCT
will generally refund the PCT preparation fee paid directly to PCT, subject to applicable law and any separately disclosed
nonrefundable third-party charge already incurred.
2.2 After Work Has Begun
Once substantive work begins, some or all of the PCT preparation fee may be earned based on the services already performed.
If a client cancels after work begins, PCT may determine a reasonable refund, if any, based on the stage of preparation,
completed forms or research, document review, due-diligence work, communications, and other services performed before
cancellation.
2.3 After the Return Is Completed for Review or Signature
When PCT has substantially completed the return and provided it for review, authorization, or Permission to File, the
preparation fee is generally considered earned for the completed preparation work. A decision not to file the completed return
does not automatically create a right to a full refund.
2.4 After Filing or Transmission
After a return has been electronically transmitted or otherwise filed, PCT preparation fees are generally non-refundable except
for a duplicate charge, a confirmed billing error, failure to provide the paid service, or another circumstance where a refund is
required by law.
Tax outcome is separate from the preparation fee
A preparation fee is payment for professional tax-preparation services. It is not contingent on a particular refund amount, IRS/state
acceptance date, processing time, audit outcome, bank-product approval, or refund funding date.
3. Quotes, Added Forms, and Additional Services
PCT quotes are based on the information known when the quote is prepared. If additional forms, states, schedules,
amendments, prior-year work, document requests, or other services are required, the final preparation fee may change before
filing.
When an additional paid service has already been completed, that service fee is subject to the same earned-fee principles
described above.
4. Stripe Payments
Direct preparation-fee and preparer-enrollment payments may be processed by Stripe. Approved refunds for Stripe payments
will generally be returned to the original payment method when supported. Processing time after PCT submits a refund
depends on the payment method, Stripe, the card network, and the customer’s financial institution.
A client should contact support@pctproservices.com promptly regarding a duplicate, incorrect, or unrecognized PCT charge
before initiating a payment dispute when possible so PCT can investigate and respond quickly.
5. Pay-by-Refund, Refund Transfer, and Bank Products
If a client chooses an eligible pay-by-refund, refund-transfer, refund-advance, check-delivery, or similar bank-product option,
third-party fees and rules may apply. PCT does not control the financial institution’s eligibility decision, funding decision, timing,
or refund rules.
If the expected tax refund is insufficient to cover the selected payment arrangement or the bank-product option is unavailable,
PCT may require direct payment of preparation fees before filing.
Any refund of a third-party bank-product fee is governed by the applicable bank/product disclosure and is not automatically
controlled by this PCT policy.
6. Client Cancellation and Filing Authorization
A client may stop the preparation process before filing by notifying PCT. Cancellation does not undo work already performed or
eliminate fees already earned.
PCT does not transmit a return merely because an intake was submitted or a fee was paid. Required review, payment
arrangement, signatures, Permission to File, e-file authorizations, and other return-specific requirements must still be
completed.
7. PCT Preparer Training & Onboarding Fee
The current PCT preparer training/onboarding enrollment fee is a one-time $149 digital program fee unless a different amount
or promotion is clearly displayed at checkout.
The training/onboarding fee is non-refundable once purchased, except where a refund is required by law or PCT is unable to
provide the purchased onboarding/training access because of a PCT-controlled failure.
Paying the fee does not guarantee certification, production access, tax-software access, client assignments, earnings, or
acceptance as an active independent contractor. Applicants must complete required onboarding, PTIN verification,
W-9/disclosures, training, certification, and administrative setup.
If an authorized coupon reduces the enrollment fee to $0, the coupon has no cash value and no refund is due. The applicant
remains subject to the same onboarding and training requirements.
8. Promotions and Discounts
Promotions apply only according to the terms displayed with the offer. Discounts are not redeemable for cash, cannot create a
negative balance or cash refund, and may be limited by expiration date, eligibility, or other stated conditions.
A preparer may only offer client discounts within PCT-authorized limits. A discount does not change the client’s obligation to
provide complete information or complete required filing authorizations.
9. Billing Errors and Duplicate Charges
If PCT confirms a duplicate or incorrect charge, PCT will correct the billing error and issue an appropriate refund or adjustment.
PCT may request reasonable information needed to locate the payment and verify the account before issuing a refund.
10. How to Request a Cancellation or Refund
Email support@pctproservices.com with the client or purchaser name, the email used for the transaction, the approximate
payment date, and a brief explanation of the request. Do not email Social Security numbers, full bank-account numbers,
payment-card numbers, or tax documents.
PCT may direct a taxpayer to the secure Client Portal or another secure method if additional information is needed to evaluate
a request.
11. Policy Changes
PCT may update this Policy prospectively when services, payment methods, laws, or business practices change. The policy in
effect at the time of purchase or service, together with any specific written agreement or disclosure, will be considered when
evaluating a refund request.
